ABOUT
Many adults struggle to make sense of daily emotional ups and downs, facing stress and anxiety without convenient, ongoing support. Professional therapy isn’t always accessible or affordable; users needed an easy way to reflect, track their feelings, and build positive mental health habits from home.
THE CHALLENGE
The business goal was to achieve high subscription conversion after onboarding. The onboarding process itself is quite long, so it was important to showcase part of the app’s functionality before the paywall. My task was to make the onboarding engaging and trustworthy, while maintaining a gentle tone. Since the app is designed for people who may be in a vulnerable mental state, it was also crucial to provide access to crisis hotlines when immediate help is needed.
KEY RESULTS ACHIEVED
- Enhanced UX writing for 2 languages: English and Russian
- Iterated designs with three rounds of usability testing for each segment of the app: onboarding, check-ins, and therapeutic tools
- Managed and reviewed content to ensure clarity, consistency, and user-centered communication
WHAT WORKED
Early research confirmed demand for a simple, private mental health tool
Templates, reminders, and progress tracking drove routine engagement
Leveraged native iOS components to speed up UI development
